1 I think everyone can already think of, Albert Haynesworth. I also wouldn't be surprised if Washington doesn't cut Andre Carter since he doesn't fit in their 3-4 defense either. Carson Palmer is a slight possibility. Anyone else?

Either him or Jeff Fisher will be gone. If we do end up with Fisher as coach, could any of you guys see him bringing Haynesworth here? I don't think Fisher's ever had a MLB like PWillis to scheme around, and then we could use our 7th pick on a corner. I think we should atleast be interested in Haynesworth depending on the coach. He'll come cheap and have something to prove after his disagreements with Shanahan in Washington.

Haynesworth will only sign with us if we convert our defensive scheme to the 4-3 defense.

That's probably what we will/should do anyway. After Franklin leaves we will have no NT and we already had no 3-4 OLB pass rushers so it makes no sense to stay in the 3-4. The 4-3 switch is atleast a decent possibility, if not probable.

man if we go into next year with little ass troy smith starting we are screwed. I'd atleast like to see us get a guy like Palmer or Orton if we dont want to go all in for Kolb. Or draft a QB. Heck I rather have Vince Young over Troy Smith, he might be a head case but atleast he's decent and can run better than Troy. We need to sign some guys because that roster IMO would not more then 4-5 wins IMO, no offense bro.
Besides Haynesworth and VY any other potential cuts you see out there? Every year you see teams go after someone who gets cut and then everyone says they're done and they end up playing pretty well. Look at LT and Westbrook(once he got to play).

We better not let Manny just walk. All I have been hearing for the past two or three years during FA is that the niners will play it conservatively since they want to resign their own players. Well? The team brass better not sit on their hands during FA and only resign Willis and VD. Not only are other teams resigning their own players, but they are picking up big FAs as well (see Jets, Bears, and so forth).

Holy moley quadruple post. But my guess is they let Manny walk, I dont see him wanting to come back to the 9ers and he can get more elsewhere. But we need to sign a few good FAs of our own, no more being cheap waiting for our own blue chippers to come up for FA since the 2 we have are already signed(VD and Willis).

AB: I can't see us letting Baas walk. Unless he gets offered a gold plated contract and guaranteed starting elsewhere.
And this line will make me the most unpopular poster on the zone: depending on who the new HC is, I say we let Troy walk and re-sign Alex. Yup! Another year it couldn't happen but with the shortage of decent FA qb's, this year it could. As we virtually certainly won't get the one immediate starter in the draft, we do need a starter, for at least half a season maybe more. And with a good coaching combo in place (hopefully) I think Alex will fancy his chances here.
Just a little idle speculation. Meant it about Baas, though.

I would not like to see Baas go, hopefully he gets a new contract soon.
