Clements would indeed be serviceable as a safety. Goldson can go where ever.

Our DBs should look like this:

LCB - Asomugha
RCB - Spencer
SS - Mays
FS - Clements

They've already said a thousand times he's not going to be moved to safety.
We wont get Nnamdi, J. Joseph is even a stretch. Its the Yorks...

oh yeah....dang it.
I bet a thousand bucks we don't even sign a CB that's NOT and UDFA
I would just love to hear something other than A Smith is getting a 1 year/5 million dollar deal.Let's get the ball rolling.
Joseph is really good too. Wouldn't mind if we got him, he will come a lot cheaper than Nnamdi.

u know we have like a 0% chance of getting joesph the bengals need to spend like 30-30 mil just to play nex season they are gonna overpay for joeseph and he will stay in cinci
love to get Nnamdi, only way thats going to happen is if he picks home town over money. And going by the teams that are serious contenders: Jets, Giants, Eagles. You'd want Nnamdi to pick sunny coast over cold weather. Jets and Eagles could be serious SB contenders with the addition of Nnamdi. Not the 9ers, not this year or next at least.

They will no doubt offer a nice chunk of change but keep in mind that money needs to be spent BEFORE THE END OF LEAGUE YEAR, thus they don't need to spend it all or any of it during FA.

So, who would they give big money to during the season? Most teams will spend it in FA.

not happening. put your cocks away.

well said.

I wouldn't pull it out even if we did sign him. Is he a great corner ? Yes. Top 2 in the NFL ? Likely.

However he is 30 years old. Is he going to have a Charles Woodson longevity or is he going to begin to hit his downside sooner than later ? Also this is a guy who has almost exclusively played RCB (which is QB's blindside). Will he remain on the right ? Will he play at the same level on the left if moved over ? Is he going to be worth the likely hefty price tag ?

I wouldn't be mad if we did sign him, however there are a few legit concerns. I just don't want this team to grossly overpay for a corner when we could likely land 2 or 3 lesser pieces that might prove to be more valuable as a whole than one great corner. Is Nnamdi really going to put us over the top and complete a defense that still appears to have question marks in a few areas ? Not completely convinced of that.

He will not come here, I'm sure he wants to win.
I wouldn't be so quick to predict gloom & doom...I have serious doubts they'll sign Nnamdi, but there are other fish in the sea. Baalke will do whatever he can to sign somebody good. They'll advise Nate he'll need to accept a restructured salary if he wants to stay a Niner. Nobody will pay him what his current contract calls for. As for him playing S, I doubt that's going to happen. We have plenty of S...Mays, Smith, Taylor, now Colin Jones. I have no problem if they can retain Goldson at a responsible salary. Let's see how the chips all fall before we throw up our hands in despair...
