he talked about how it would be nice to have another stanford HC come in ala Walsh. He also mentioned Gruden as a possibility. I'm guessing those are the niners top 2 choices as of right now.

nope he said he loves his wineary right now in the wine country. He also said that he thinks the players got too good a deal in the last collective bargining and that is leading to major tensions this time around. And that teams are making plans to have coaches work part time if there is a lock out, therefore they can be paid less.
And that a new coach would have to understand, like Maiocco pointed out, that if they come in to install new programs they wont have the March mini camps or maybe even summer camps to install new strategies.
Purdy also pointed out that Gruden will get offers from other teams and teams that would pay him more. Killion just said that Jed should stop by the MNF booth on Monday and ask Jon to sit down for coffee as a joke.

I don't think John York likes him. I seriously doubt that.

He was also the architect of the absolute salary cap hell that effectively dismantled the Niners.

Right after he left us in salary cap hell. He is partially responsible for the mess we are still in. Maybe mostly at fault

I don't understand the hype about Gruden. If the 49ers hire Gruden he will just get fired in 3-4 years after he dismantles any talent we have on the roster.
