What do you all think of David Garrard? I have always been fond of his gutsy play and mobility. Reminds me of Jeff Garcia with a stronger arm.

Garrad is interesting...I really dont know about him. He would be an upgrade over Smith I guess...Hell...Atleast he has been to the Pro Bowl and I believe on more than one occasion but the Jaguars (IMO) has never really been a REAL threat in the NFL. So with that being said, if he became available, I would take a serious look at him!...But I would still be looking for another QB for the future in the draft

honestly, (this is not going to happen) alex smith should be waived like Trent Edwards was. Smith is not the answer. The Bills at least saw it, made the change. Fitzpatrick is not the answer either, but they made a move.

Try this. Compared to what we have, Garrard is _______.
Garrard has about a .500 as a start, has thrown for more TDs than INTs, every year he's been in the league just about, and has done pretty decent considering he's never really had any receivers besides an aging Tory Holt.
If we can't get Andrew Luck, there really isn't any QB I'm interested in in the first round. We still go after a QB of the future in the lower rounds and could bring in Garrard to start once he is ready.

He's been inconsistent and the reason why he's been the starter for the most part is because they don't have a franchise QB to replace him nor have they brought in any legit competition.
