Correct if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Edwards never played for Harbaugh.

i think he coached him his senior year. edwards was drafted in 2007 and harbaugh began coaching stanford in 2006
I would like to see him come and fight for a job

I wanna see 3 new QB's on the roster next year

Harbaugh's first season at Stanford was 2007, Edwards rookie season at Buffalo. He never coached him.

Actually Walt Harris was the HC in 2006 when they went 1-11, Harbaugh was hired in 2007.
no. i want carson palmer.

I'd like Carson more too, but if that doesn't happen I'd like the idea of bringing in Edwards and a rookie.

You have a time machine handy? I'm sure you don't want the 2010 Carson Palmer, right?

Palmer in 2010: 61% completion percentage / 3,665 yards / 25 td's and 18 int's

A few more int's than I'd like, but yeah I'd take him over anything we have right now.
Edwards = Alex Smith

you need to watch the games and not judge by stats alone. Most of those yards were chalked up in garbage time as the Bengals were constantly playing from behind in the second half, and thats not totally the defense's fault.

And what did our QB's do in garbage time? Just making the point that he's better than what we have, and watching the games proves this point as much as his stats do. If I was stuck on stats I wouldn't give a crap about Trent Edwards - in watching him previously with the Bills he showed 'potential' although looking at his stats would make you run screaming.

FAIL...edwards is just a horrible starter, alex is decent and a quality backup.

I thought Edwards looked pretty good against the Cards.

He got the third string reps against the bottom of the Cards bench. But I thought his throws looked sharp.

I wonder if he will ever get another chance to start in the NFL....
