Following Adam Shefters Twitter has been great this free agency. There's been many developments that have been overlooked by the media. Here are a few as of the last 10 hours that are certainly noteworthy.... David Carr to visit 49ers: http://tinyurl.com/yhaqach #nyg Saints on verge of making restricted free-agent G Jahri Evans one of the highest paid guards in NFL history. Deal could come any day now. With free-agent TE Brandon Manumaleuna agreeing to a five-year deal in Chicago, it frees the Bears to trade TE Greg Olsen Panthers released DT Maake Kemoeatu, who tore his tore Achilles in late July. Not at all surprised. -We're moving into a 'spread' hybrid-type of offense, and if Alex goes down Shaun Hill's arm would not keep the team within continuity (resulting in us being 1-dimensional again where defenses stack the box like last year).

I think the same thing would happen as what happened when Sheets was picked up by Miami or if the Niners pass on Spiller in the draft:

Good point.

And Carr probably is the best back up out there for this type of offense. Delhomme scares me. That guy throws picks like he's trying to break Favre's record.

Maybe they want to see if they can replace Hill. No way is Alex or Nate out, so if anything anyone that can compete with Hill. Love Hill's moxy...but physically he just doesnt have it!!!

Carr was a 1st rd. draft pick right?!
