Antrel Rolle to be release

Cept Goldson also showd the physicality needed to play SS and if you haven't noticed, Lewis is getting old and oft concussed. People wanting Rolle are do so with the thought of moving Goldson to SS.

We can sign Rolle and move Goldson to strong safety.

Problem solved.

we can sign RUMPH to FS move Rolle to CB and then Goldson to SS.

Rolle failed at CB.

Instead of throwing stupid money at an average at best player why not draft a SS (2nd or 3rd round) and groom him behind Lewis? Keep Goldson at the position he is playing well at.

Because we suck at drafting, especially in the later rounds

2nd round hardly far back in the draft. Just not a fan of Rolle at all

exactly

He would still be a huge upgrade over anyone we have..move Goldson to SS and Rolle to FS and we're set. As long as he doesn't want too much $

I haven't read or heard anything that even suggests that our coaching staff has any intention of moving Goldson to SS.

Well they should definitely consider it.

As it stands now...something needs to be done with Clements. It's at the corner where we need help the most now and Rolle was drafted as a corner but was moved to safety because he was better suited at the pro level there (if I remember correctly). This is why he may be released...because he is a Safety on a corner's contract, a contract which is much more spendy in every area, including the bonus's, 4 mil in this case.

Rolle would be a good pickup, but he eats up one of the spot's that Nate may need to slide into. Not sure how many years are left on his contract, but......are we going to pay Nate his contract to be a backup or nickle back? Or send him packing and eat it financially instead? Not really...we would first want to try him at safety I would think. And Rolles at the safety spot because he couldn't cut the mustard at corner if I remember correctly, which is the postilion we have real need at at...picking up Rolle would be a double hit in the financial department because we would still be paying Nate top and Rolle would get his as well except we would be stuck with Nate at the corner, likely in a back-up or nickle role.

If it were me, I think I would take my chances on Hayden falling to us. There is a better than good chance he will fall into our lap at 13, and that would be a complete steal in the draft AND have a bigger impact on our secondary than Rolle would because it would give us the possibility of getting out from Nate as a starter at corner (where we really need the help) if needed without having to take it in the shorts, IMHO.

Hayden wont fall to us..hes going to have a nasty combine tommorow..and will secure his top 10 status with a 4.3 in the 40..lol

matt asked scotty mac that and he said they did try to adress the issue by drafting reggie smith and curtis taylor

reggie smith seems injured all the time though

Damn straight! I think Goldson at SS would suit him better! Fock he'd lay some hits!
What makes everyone so confident that the move from FS to SS is an easy move worth investing millions in Rolle for?
I heard he's more than likely gonna resign with the Cards. They really want to keep him just not for 12 million for one more year I think the resing him long term for bout 4 mill a year or so

I would agree that he's probably not going to make onto the market. I just don't see the Cards letting him go.....they already have too many question mark's at many other positions this year without adding another unnecessarily (I don't think Rolle is looking to break the bank and would accept a reasonable offer to stay.).

Exactly and not to mention they already pay Wilson a good amount of money , and they will have to resign Dockett for big bucks. Not to mention they will have to replace Dansby who i heard that the Dolphins, and Giants are coming after him heavy.

Rolles' contract was terminated. This means he is a free agent and not subject to waivers, he's free to entertain offers immediately, and the Cards would not receive any draft picks if he departs.

I hope the Giants sign him
