and anyone know the Cardinals cap situation?

I remember when Rolle was in the same talk as being drafted #1 the same year with Alex Smith, that would be a good signing if true and we would move Goldson over to SS and hopefully reworking Lewis' contract to be more friendlier.

Yeah wasn't Rolle one of the draft prospects that we brought in for a private workout in 2005?

I wouldn't mind it if we picked him up but I kind of want to see if a guy like Eric Berry slides to us. Rolle is definitely good though. The Tards are crazy for letting him go. Honestly what the hell are they doing? Are they even trying to win next year? They're letting Rolle go, Dansby, Berry's gone, they want to trade Boldin, Warner's gone, etc. They're freaking nuts. If we don't win the division next year we're pretty much an epic failure.

They need to reformulate at both sides. I wouldn't be surprised to see them shift back to a pure 4-3 D, and spend the bucks on landing Peppers or something.

They can replace Dansby in the 4-3 in the draft. And remember, they did draft Rashad Johnson in the 3rd round last year.

Yeah but we know how painful it can be to wait for a 1st year safety taking over that starting spot. As good as Goldson was this year he didn't really pick up steam until the 2nd half of the year, and he blew coverages and missed tackles in games like GB. I don't think they can get a guy as good as Dansby in the draft, NYG plays a 4-3 and they couldn't just put a MLB in there when Pierce went out and make it work. The guy still needs to have talent, their pick isn't going to be very high. They won't get a guy like McClain so they're going to be sifting through the 2nd and 3rd tier talents. Plus they need to improve their OLine because Leinart doesn't get the ball out as fast as Warner did. You can't just put a rookie 2nd or 3rd round MLB in there and expect him to play like a pro bowler. They're notoriously cheap, I don't see them spending money on Julius Peppers. To be honest I think they're f**ked. It makes me kind of happy

We need to sign him. We can focus more on other needs in the draft. Antrel Rolle and Goldson would make a pretty solid safety group.

What if we ended up signing both Dansby and Rolle?
