I am troubled by what AB tells us. (1) We have $53M+ in available cap money to spend, and (2) the Yorks knew that 2010 was likely to be an uncapped year. This tells me that the Yorks never intended to field a top flight team.
During the capped years, they should have committed much of that money to good players and got them tied up for a number of years. In 2010, many of these will not be UFA, but rather RFA. The good ones available in 2010 will be offered more money because the cap is not a factor.
Am I right AB?
they did commit to a certain extent, staley, nate, lewis, smith, etc... But they could of done a better job IMO, get Vernon, Willis and Gore signed.
Im more worried that when they were to hit FA, they might end up leaving.
