Would You Welcome T.O. Back to the 49ers?

They had pick #2 and 3! Do you all remember this? Man imagine how different our team could have been in that deep draft. Redskins ended up picking Chris Samuels and Lavar Arrington

I never heard this ever, sounds like the Skins to offer 2 first round picks for a WR. Why would any team on Earth pass that up? Both the #2 and #3 picks? Maybe we didn't want to invest that much $$$. If that was the case we still should have took it and flipped one of the picks.

Can anyone else validate this?

It was most likely the potential cap hits. In the year 2000 a #2/#3 would have (individually) made at least 13-14 million within the first 12 months of their contract, and this was also around the time we were beginning to reach the threshold of our tumultuous cap hell.

Bill Walsh was facing the type of situation (with cap/roster sacrifices) no GM would have been able to succeed around, yet we somehow managed a wildcard win out of it before everything went to complete s**t!

it makes me sick to my stomach to think we lost out on 2 top 3 picks because we didn't trade TO. I understand we probably couldn't but man I HATE TO. I wish I never knew about this would be trade.
If he lowers his asking price I would welcome him back and let bygones be bygones.
IMO just say NO.TO.TO

TO > 2 first round picks
I never heard anything about such a ridiculous trade and even if it were true, which I don't think it is/was, even Dan Snyder is not dumb enough to make that trade.

Not only that, but palease. The Niners were already have troubles with TO. They would have traded him for the #2 and #3 quicker than shizzy. It's easy enough to trade back if you lower your asking price enough.
it's just a matter time!!
According to ESPN Insider, the Steelers have some interest in T.O.

I'd want him back, he is better than Morgan and his work ethic is incredible and rub off on Crabtree and the other WR's

agreed, I have to believe that the people who want him back in SF were young fans when he played for us. His skills are dropping off and EVERY TEAM he's played for have decided they're better off without him. Yes he made "the catch two" (in a game full of drops) and perhaps thats the most success and excitement some fans have been around for. Doesn't change the fact that the guy is an ass with his best days behind him, there's a reason he's available and has been for months. It's fine to be sentimental but do not bring that train wreck back here!
