Neal & Evans (favorites of some in this thread) are the two highest rated OG's in the NFL according to that list. Nice.

Kyle Kosier (remember him?) is #6. Ouch.
None of the top 10 linemen will be avalible, if Mankins is an UFA I would sign him in a heartbeat. Other than him, and Winston Justice (AKA Kwame Harris II) all of those guys will get new deals.

Not in the Oline anyway.

IF you know how to draft, you dont have to. How long did it take Thomas, Clady or McNeill to develop? You dont build great teams by signing guys past their prime for huge money.
A sign of how far pro football focus website has come: Peter King quoted it yesterday in his column: :)

Bobbie Williams is someone we should look at this offseason. He's 6'6 345 pounds been a team captain for Cincinnati and has been really reliable for the Bengals. The only games he missed is because he had to get his appendix removed.

He's going to be 34 years old next year but I'm all for adding some expierence to the OL.

Staley, Rachal, Heittman, Williams, Buluga
Sims, Snyder, Baas, Wragge, Pashos

Is he a FA? Adding some experience to the OL would be awesome. He's done a good job helping to protect Palmer this year, and for a long time. Plus he'd help us run the ball. But I kind of want to see us add more lighter OL if we're going to more of a spread or if we wind up getting someone like Shanahan and going WCO.

He's a free agent this year.

I think the light line for the spread or WCO might be a thing of the past. Philly actually has one of the biggest lines this year. Minnesota's line is monsterous with Loadholt and McKinnie at tackle. The Saints interior is huge with Nicks, Goodman, and Evans.

I think you want a mix nowadays. You need the 340 pound guards as well as the athletic tackle.

mankins is from Cathys Valley (mariposa area) and has told people he wants to be back on the west coast. he has his rings. Has said he only wants to sign one more contract then retire.

not to mention he just built a big ass house in his hometown...
Spend the $$$$ on Mankins and Evans. We can draft a RT and get Panos back next year. Or even trade for a guy like Tony Ugoh of the Colts(here he's trade bait)..I'd relegate Rachal and Snyder to my 3rd./swing Guard and Tackles (respectively). Put Wragge to backup Center.. Staley and Heitman remain as starters, and our O-Line is finally fixed and deep !!!!!

That's real reallistic. Let's spend 60 million dollars on guards this offseason. Nevermind the fact that both of those guys won't be on the market this offseason.

The Saints are going to resign Evans, and when we go to an uncapped year, neither Mankins nor Evans would be a FA anyway, they would both be RFAs. If they make to RFA status, both would get very high tenders, and we are not giving up high draft picks for the right to sign OGs.
i say we give up all of our draft picks for 3 of those dudes.
Not to burst anyones bubble but remember the Niners front office refuse to pay big $$ for Guards???
