We need to let Baas walk and sign Mankins if he's available.

No, I mean Baas. Chilo hasn't even started a full season worth of games yet, I'm willing to be patient with him. Baas is going to be a FA (unless we go into an uncapped year) and has not played well enough IMO to earn a new contract, so I think we let him walk. If we do, and Mankins is available, we'd be stupid not to try hard to get him signed.

If the CBA doesn't get renewed, most of those players are going to be RFAs.
Gandy and Hicks wont' be (I think).

I know, and that will severely limit our options, so I'm hoping the NFLPA and the owners will be able to get a deal done, but I doubt it.

There's a future starter on that list for us somewhere. I hope Scot McCloughan really pursues one or more of them.

I really like Max Jean-Gilles, hope we get a chance to pick him up. A name I don't see on that list is Deuce Lutui, that is a Guard we gotta pick up.

Max Jean-Gilles, Mankins, Trueblood would be my picks.
Rob Sims, Deuce Luti would put a dent into division rivals.
You forgot to mention Donald Penn of the Buccaneers.

While watching the Saints and Falcons game, I noticed two guys in particular - Jermon Bushrod (......an old draft favorite of Mad Dog if I am not mistaken) playing in place of Jammal Brown and Jahri Evans. Don't know what happens when Brown comes back and Bushrod is a RFA. Evans looks like a Pro Bowler both as a run blocker and pass protector. I just don't think the Saints let him get away.

Getting someone like Mankins or Evans would be a phenomenal pickup for the Niners. This has got to be the priority going into next offseason.
How bout we grab both??? Now that would provide some running room for Gore!!! Seriously though, if both these guys hit the market, I would absolutely consider making a move like that.
Maybe cut clements to free up some money???
