Should the 49ers target Jason Campbell in FA?

Here a list of 2010 Free Agent QB's:
Jason Campbell, Washington Redskins (27)
Kyle Orton, Denver Broncos (26)
Chad Pennington, Miami Dolphins (33)
Charlie Batch, Pittsburgh Steelers (34)
Kyle Boller, St. Louis Rams (28)
David Carr, New York Giants (30)
Kellen Clemens, New York Jets (26)
Daunte Culpepper, Detroit Lions (32)
Jeff Garcia, Oakland Raiders (39)
Rex Grossman, Houston Texans (29)
Joey Harrington, New Orleans Saints (30)
Tarvaris Jackson, Minnesota Vikings (26)
Jon Kitna, Dallas Cowboys (36)
Matt Moore, Carolina Panthers (25) – Restricted FA
Patrick Ramsey, Tennessee Titans (30)
Brett Ratliff, Cleveland Browns (24) – Exclusive Rights FA
Troy Smith, Baltimore Ravens (25) – Restricted FA

I wouldn't wish any of those QB's on my worst enemy. I could see signing Garcia now if Hill or Alex smith get hurt, but not any longer than that. Kyle Orton, I still don't believe is as good as the Broncos record would suggest. So unless we make a trade for someone or Hill, smith, or Davis step up huge we will need to draft a QB & we will have to wait for him to learn everything there is to know. That can take years. If Hill doesn't work out I say give Smith another shot. If he sucks we go into next year with Davis as our QB and the team will just have to build around him as he learns.

Damn, Garcia is 39?

I'd still take him...
Here's a thought......why don't we go after a real qb?

Because we need an OL first.

But Jason Campbell doesn't play tackle, guard, or center.

Well I don't want Jason Campbell either.
He's not good enough to clean Nate Davis' cleats!!
This thread is official a FAIL

From that list, only Pennington would be an upgrade, IMO. I still think Tavaris Jackson could be a pretty good starting QB.

Realistically, we're not going to sign any of them.
TWO WORD

Nate Davis
I've always liked him, but to be honest he hasn't looked impressive at all.

Heck No!
Campbell looked pretty decent in '06-'07. Under Zorn he has broken down.

Pennington? He just had his 3rd major shoulder surgery. For a guy with a weak arm that can't help. He is a smart player but no thanks.. If I had to pick one I'd say Kellen Clemens but I'd hope we don't end up with anyone on that list.
