Why would we trade for him? He's in the last season of his contract, might as well wait it out and sign him as a free agent. Franklin is in his last year also, so we'll be looking for a new NT anyways, one would assume if Franklin leaves.
Wow if we could pull this off with a contract in line before a bidding war it would sure solidify our 3-4........

Why wait until next year when we would have to fight for his services? He's been durable plays in a 3-4 and wont turn 28 until Nov. Our problem is solve for at least five to six years.

I don't think we'll throw away any picks, I think the organization is pretty serious about building through the draft.

Don't get me wrong, Wilfork is a stud and i'd love to have him here, i just don't see it happening.

I don't get where you think we would be able to trade for him?? The Pats haven't even hinted on the idea of trading Wilfork nor does Wilfork want to be traded. He says a few times in that article that he WANTS to be a Patriot. And even if they don't re-sign him this year, what makes you think they wouldn't just slap the F-Tag on him??

Thanks G-money!!
Why would the Patriots give up a former 1st round draft pick, stud nose tackle for a third round pick??? And why would they want Franklin??? none of this makes sense to me.

If we actually have the chance to get this guy we should. That being said we had the chance to trade for either, Kris Jenkins, Marcus Stroud, or Shaun Rodgers, and we didn't go for any of em, Scotty Mac loves his draft picks, so I don't see us given up a high pick even for a solid player that would fit a position of need for us.

Actually, Stroud, Jenkins, and Rodgers were had for a third round draft choice and all have equal pedigrees to Wilfork's.

And with that ?
doesnt he have 2 more years left on his contract, and he is not getting traded
I think the Pats last draft got them an extra 2 NT if they need to break the bank for him they might just take the compensation and run if the others step up this year.
