Man I'm so late to the party and in the strangest of way too.
I was checking all of our players dead money Cap on Spotrac and I see $33 334 for Dee Winters and I'm like what the hell? Why would there be dead Cap on his rookie contract when he's still on the roster. I then press on his name and see the Cowboys' logo and I'm like what the hell again?!?
I had not even heard of the draft day trade happening, really surprised to only hear about it now.
I was going to say I'm not going to miss him as a starter because I think he was nice enough depth at the position.
But then I just checked his Cap hit went from $1.072M last year to $3.674M this season so yeah, good trade.

I think the main thing is hes a free agent next year and they weren't planning to extend him. So getting value for him now before he walks and also freeing up some cap, why not.
This year they probably think a combo of Greenlaw/Wallow/Martin should hold the fort down this year.
And honestly I think thats a good move.
