Sebetic, who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants in 2014, has spent much of this season with the Green Bay Packers. He was waived off of their practice squad on December 8.
He played college football at the University of Dayton, appearing in 40 games and starting 39 of those. During that time, he had 206 tackles, five interceptions, 33 passes defended, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and earned First-Team All-Pioneer Football League honors in 2013.
The 49ers had room on the practice squad after RB Jarryd Hayne was elevated to the 53-man roster on Saturday.
