NaVorro Bowman passes concussion protocol, returns against Bears

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman returned to the game in the second half against the Bears in Chicago. He left the field after teammate DE Quinton Dial crashed into him in the second quarter.

Bowman, who was questionable to return, was checked for a concussion by the medical staff and cleared the concussion protocol.

Earlier in the game, TE Vance McDonald went into the locker room. He was also being checked for a possible concussion. McDonald has been ruled out against the Bears.

It sounds like help is on the way for the San Francisco 49ers cornerbacks. Emmanuel Moseley, who has missed the last two games due to a concussion, was back at practice on Wednesday, albeit in a blue no-contact jersey. Moseley was without the blue jersey on Thursday, which indicates that the starting cornerback has been cleared from the concussion protocol and could be set to play on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. Former 49ers D-lineman Fred Dean passes away after battle with COVID-19

NFL great Fred Dean, who played along the San Francisco 49ers defensive line for five seasons between 1981 and 1985, has passed away after battling COVID-19. Fred Dean has died at 68, from coronavirus.
