NaVorro Bowman passes concussion protocol, returns against Bears

San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman returned to the game in the second half against the Bears in Chicago. He left the field after teammate DE Quinton Dial crashed into him in the second quarter.

Bowman, who was questionable to return, was checked for a concussion by the medical staff and cleared the concussion protocol.

Earlier in the game, TE Vance McDonald went into the locker room. He was also being checked for a possible concussion. McDonald has been ruled out against the Bears.

Multiple sources report that former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Parys Haralson has passed away at the age of 37. The cause of death has not been disclosed. "The 49ers are heartbroken and shocked by the news of Parys' tragic passing," the team said via a statement. "Parys was a beloved member of our organization that lived life with an extraordinary amount of passion and joy, while leaving an indelible mark on everyone he came across. We extend our condolences to Parys' family and loved ones." The 49ers made Haralson a fifth-round draft pick out of Tennessee in 2006.
