St. Louis Rams WR Stedman Bailey is in stable condition at a South Florida hospital after reportedly being shot in the head late Tuesday. He is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.

According to reports, the 25-year old was sitting in a car with three family members in Miami Gardens when another car pulled up and started opening fire. Bailey's cousin, who was driving the car, suffered life-threatening injuries.

Bailey is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Here is what some 49ers had to say late Tuesday about the sad situation.

Kyle Shanahan confirms 49ers never made an offer for Matthew Stafford

After last season, the San Francisco 49ers looked at all of their quarterback options heading into free agency and the draft. At the time, the team owned the No. 12 overall pick, and the quarterback they were falling in love with, Trey Lance, probably wasn't going to fall that far. So the Niners did their due diligence on all possibilities, including a pre-draft call to the Green Bay Packers to see what was going on with Aaron Rodgers. Before that, reports often linked San Francisco to other quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford and Deshaun Watson. Head coach Kyle Shanahan already admitted to being interested in the former, saying that he was trying to get the 49ers involved in the talks for the former Detroit Lions quarterback. However, much to Shanahan's disappointment, the

The NFL reportedly informed teams that it would not extend the 18-week season to accommodate a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players. Last year, there were multiple postponements as the league navigated through the bizarre season amid a pandemic. There will be no rescheduling of games in 2021. The league hopes players will take it upon themselves to get vaccinated and protect themselves and their families as training camps get set to kick off. Should there be an outbreak, the impacted club or clubs could be forced to forfeit, accruing a defeat, and not being paid for the lost game. A team with an outbreak could also be responsible for

General manager John Lynch informed reporters today that the San Francisco 49ers are among the teams that have surpassed the 85 percent vaccination threshold for players. The team has had a 100 percent vaccination rate among its Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff for a while now. "Originally, everybody kind of had that goal on 85 percent, and I'm proud to say that we're up over 90 percent," Lynch said. "It really speaks to our players. We didn't enforce anything. What we tried to do is just communicate with our guys and rely on the professionals to educate them as much as possible. Our guys really arrived at this individually and as a team, and we're proud of them for that." With the vast majority of players vaccinated, the 49ers are unlikely to have to worry about training

Frelund: Return of these two star players set up 49ers for playoff return

Earlier this week, on a Game Theory segment, Cynthia Frelund gave her argument for why the San Francisco 49ers will make the playoffs in 2021 after missing out in 2020. Frelund attributed their recent Super Bowl appearance as a factor in her decision as well as the multitude of injuries that affected the team last season. "They were in the Super Bowl just like five minutes ago and they had a whole bunch of injuries, but they get all those players back." Looking at the offensive side of the ball, Frelund highlighted star tight end George Kittle, who, according to Next Gen Stats, has averaged 8.0 yards after the catch per reception since 2018, which is the highest in the NFL given a minimum of 25 receptions. In addition to Kittle,
