St. Louis Rams WR Stedman Bailey is in stable condition at a South Florida hospital after reportedly being shot in the head late Tuesday. He is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.

According to reports, the 25-year old was sitting in a car with three family members in Miami Gardens when another car pulled up and started opening fire. Bailey's cousin, who was driving the car, suffered life-threatening injuries.

Bailey is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Here is what some 49ers had to say late Tuesday about the sad situation.

Pro Football Focus has been going through its annual position rankings. Trent Williams came in as the NFL's best tackle, which is probably a shock to no one. The San Francisco 49ers' second-year quarterback, Brock Purdy, came in at No. 23 within his position group. A late-season stretch of promising play got Spencer Burford into the ranking of offensive guards. He came in at No. 32. Several other 49ers have appeared throughout the rankings. The team is represented in the running back, tight end,

Everyone says it, so it must be true. The San Francisco 49ers have a loaded roster. Stacked. Deep. Super-Bowl caliber. However you choose to describe it, we can all agree that the roster is very good. They have Pro Bowlers all over the field. But there are some spots that will be filled by young players in 2023. And these young men will be asked to step up this season, in order for the 49ers to have the chance to win the Super Bowl. Here are five young players who need to come up big in 2023: 1. Drake Jackson, Edge Rusher The 49ers built their defense in 2019 around a dominant pass rush. That season, they had a player opposite of Nick Bosa (Dee Ford) who provided a lot of pressure off the edge. Since then, however, they have been unable to

As the sun rose over the horizon, fans of the San Francisco 49ers came from all over, with great anticipation, as General Manager, John Lynch, slowly trudged his way upon the hill, disappearing into the fog for just a moment, and reappearing with Kyle Shanahan, to proclaim Brock Purdy the heir to the 49ers' QB throne. (Cue the "Circle of Life" track!) Alright, so it wasn't exactly like that. But the 49ers' brass has made it a point this offseason to ensure everyone knows Purdy is the team's starting quarterback, once he's healthy. And while it may have lacked the drama of a scene from The Lion King, the declaration was just as impactful. (You know, if we could have had Lynch look out over the kingdom, and then hold young Purdy up in front of the team's cheering

This PFF stat should have QBs worried about facing the 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have compiled one of the NFL's best rosters, hence their overall success over the last four seasons, which includes a Super Bowl appearance and three trips to the NFC Championship. A big portion of that success? The developed talent along the defensive line, which has been the core of the team ever since head coach Kyle Shanahan took over in 2017. After a down, but still fairly strong year from the defensive line in 2022, San Francisco added defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, who had 11 sacks on the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, to bolster the interior alongside Arik Armstead. Hargrave joins defensive end Nick Bosa, who led the team with 18.5 sacks en route to winning the Defensive Player of the Year award in
