Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area is hearing that things are looking very, very good for RB Jarryd Hayne making the San Francisco 49ers' 53-man roster.

And why not? He has looked very good during preseason. Here is another look at the former rugby league superstar making a vicious hit on a San Diego Chargers defender and another of him making a solid tackle on special teams. Hayne seems to be able to do it all.

Rapoport: 49ers were among the teams to put in a claim for Takkarist McKinley

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday that he didn't believe his team put in a claim for Takkarist McKinley after the Atlanta Falcons waived the defensive end this week. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is hearing differently. The NFL insider reports that San Francisco was indeed one of the teams that tried to acquire the defender. 49ers among teams that have inquired about ex-Giants corner DeAndre Baker, per report

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly among several teams that have inquired about free-agent cornerback DeAndre Baker, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post (h/t to Patrick Tulini for the find). The Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Dallas Cowboys are the other teams that have been identified by The Post.
