However, a report from Mike Garafolo of NFL Network indicated that the two parties were "not close" to reaching an agreement. No one expects a deal to get done before the NFL Draft, which kicks off later this month. Detroit Lions tight end Brock Wright will not be joining the San Francisco 49ers after all. Last Friday, the 49ers signed Wright to an offer sheet, allowing the Lions to match the offer. The Lions had tendered Wright a first-right-of-refusal contract, guaranteeing him $2.985 million for the 2024 season. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the team is signing former Green Bay Packers running back Patrick Taylor Jr. to a one-year deal.
