The San Francisco 49ers have signed offensive lineman Doug Kramer Jr. to a one-year deal. He was among three offensive linemen who recently worked out for the 49ers.
To make room on the roster, the team released offensive lineman Nick Zakelj. That leaves quarterback Brock Purdy as the only remaining player from the 49ers' 2022 NFL Draft class.
The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Kramer Jr. (6-2, 300) was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round (207th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Throughout his four-year NFL career with the Bears (2022, 2024-25), Arizona Cardinals (2023) and Seattle Seahawks (2025), he has appeared in 18 games along the offensive line. In 2025, Kramer Jr. signed to the Seahawks practice squad on November 20 before the team released him on December 2.
A 28-year-old native of Hinsdale, IL, Kramer Jr. attended the University of Illinois for five seasons (2017-21), where he started in 48 games along the team's offensive line.
Zakelj (6-6, 316) signed a one-year extension with the team on February 18, 2026.
