San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and several team scouts were in Eugene on Tuesday for Oregon's Pro Day, where linebacker Jeffrey Bassa showcased his skills to NFL teams. With Dre Greenlaw's departure to the Denver Broncos, the 49ers could be in the market for a replacement, and Bassa might be an intriguing prospect.

Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda reports that the 49ers met with Bassa, who reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.55 to 4.6 seconds, slightly improving upon his 4.63 40-time at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
"He looked smooth in position drills and good in coverage drills," Pauline wrote of his Pro Day workout.
Brett Austin Taylor, a sports anchor for KEZI 9 News, noted that Bassa and Lynch were seen "talking for a nice long while."

At the Combine, Bassa also posted a 38.5-inch vertical jump, a broad jump of 9 feet, 10 inches, and 21 reps on the bench press.
Bassa (6-1, 232) recorded 54 tackles (three for a loss), 1.5 sacks, two passes defensed, and two forced fumbles in 14 games (12 starts) as a senior in 2024, according to Sports Reference. Over his four collegiate seasons, he accumulated 236 tackles (14 for a loss), 4.5 sacks, four passes defensed, three interceptions, a touchdown, and two forced fumbles.
Bassa ranks as the sixth-best linebacker on Pro Football Focus' big board and has earned a defensive grade of at least 73.4 in each of the last two seasons.
