In a nod to nostalgia, the San Francisco 49ers will don their iconic throwback jerseys for Thursday night's Thanksgiving clash against the Seattle Seahawks. This classic uniform was last seen in action on September 21 against the New York Giants, but notably, that game featured the home version of the throwback attire.

The upcoming Week 12 NFC West showdown will take place at Lumen Field, where the 49ers last showcased the road editions of these throwback jerseys during the regular-season meeting with the Seahawks on December 15, 2022.

The throwback jerseys pay homage to the uniforms worn by the 1994 team during its memorable Super Bowl run. Those jerseys were actually a modernized version of the uniforms the Niners wore in 1955.

The 49ers will wear their throwbacks one more time this season, during their Christmas Day matchup against the Baltimore Ravens at Levi's Stadium.

It took nine years, but the San Francisco 49ers finally got some payback on Thursday night for the Seattle Seahawks feasting on turkey after a win at Levi's Stadium in 2014. The Seahawks' 19-3 win over the 49ers on Thanksgiving in 2014 was the last time either team played on Thanksgiving before Thursday night, and after that game then-Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and cornerback Richard Sherman dug into the postgame turkey at the 50-yard line of Levi's Stadium at a time when the rivalry between the two teams was at a peak. The 49ers flipped the script on Thursday, notching a 31-13 win over the Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle that was followed by a slew of 49ers getting their fill of Thanksgiving turkey, courtesy of NBC. Thanksgiving reflection: John Lynch grateful for 49ers, emergence of Brock Purdy

By David Bonilla
Nov 23

It's Thanksgiving, a time for gratitude and reflection. San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch, reflecting on the season, is grateful for the opportunity to shape one of the NFL's most competitive rosters, one with lofty Super Bowl hopes. Lynch is also grateful for the emergence of quarterback Brock Purdy. The team waited until last year's final draft pick to acquire him, and the move has paid significant dividends. Purdy entered last season buried in the depth chart but took over the starting job after injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. Lance never relinquished that starting job. "Well, I'm thankful for all our players," Lynch told NBC Sports Bay Area as the 49ers prepare for a Thanksgiving showdown with the division-rival Seattle
