49ers place Kevin Givens and JaMycal Hasty on injured reserve, activate Kerryon Johnson from practice squad

The San Francisco 49ers have announced the following roster moves ahead of tomorrow night's Week 3 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Activated from the practice squad
  • RB Kerryon Johnson

Placed on injured reserve

Givens and Hasty were injured during the 49ers' Week 2 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Both suffered ankle injuries but could return later this season.

San Francisco enters the game with a 2-0 record while Green Bay is 1-1. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 5:20 p.m. from Levi's Stadium. The home-team Niners are currently favored by 3.5 points.

The San Francisco 49ers have been trying to manage defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw's knee injury, but some extended rest might be necessary for the second-year player. Today, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Kinlaw is a candidate to land on injured reserve, which would force him to miss a minimum of three games. 49ers place TE George Kittle on injured reserve

Happy birthday, George Kittle. Unfortunately, it looks like you won't be on the football field for the next three games. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that the San Francisco 49ers are placing their All-Pro tight end on injured reserve.
