The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Safety
Jimmie Ward, linebacker
Fred Warner, and tackle
Trent Williams returned to practice after receiving Wednesday off. None are dealing with injuries.
Running back
Elijah Mitchell remains out. He sustained a shoulder injury during the 49ers' Week 2 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. After missing two days of practice, Mitchell's chances of playing this weekend appear to be slim.
Also absent were defensive end

Running back
Trey Sermon, who was limited on Wednesday after suffering a concussion against the Eagles, is still practicing in a blue no-contact jersey.

49ers' Emmanuel Moseley seeks to help Trey Lance, stop Brandon Aiyuk
Emmanuel Moseley is always open to helping his San Francisco 49ers teammates. One, however, doesn't seem to need any help. In fact, the fifth-year cornerback is looking to stop one teammate who has been a headache thus far for the defense.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is having an excellent training camp, putting in day after day of impressive effort. The 49ers defensive backs have been praising Aiyuk, expecting the third-year wideout to have a breakout season.
"Right now, he's having an outstanding camp," safety Jimmie Ward said this week. "I feel like he's having the best camp out of everybody on the team, offense and defense."

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell feeling good physically as season two approaches
After a rookie season full of bumps and bruises and a procedure on his knee in the spring, 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell seems to be in a good place as training camp proceeds.
Mitchell set a franchise rushing record for a rookie player in 2021 (963 yards), even though injuries limited him to 11 games. In April, Mitchell had a clean-up procedure on his knee, but he's been participating in drills at training camp and has been moving in the right direction as he gets back to full health.
"He has looked good," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Saturday,
49ers' Kyle Shanahan looking to ramp up practice workload for healthier Elijah Mitchell
Elijah Mitchell's 963 rushing yards last season set a San Francisco 49ers franchise record for the most by a rookie. But, how he accomplished the feat is even more impressive. Mitchell was never completely healthy for most of the season, dealing with shoulder, rib, finger, and knee injuries.
In April, Mitchell underwent a clean-up procedure on his knee. Head coach Kyle Shanahan isn't about to throw a full workload on the second-year running back. He knows how important Mitchell is to the success of the upcoming season.
"Elijah's just getting back healthy," Shanahan told reporters before Monday's practice. "We didn't get him in OTAs. He did a lot of good things last year, but he was also banged up throughout the year. So Elijah is just trying to get back to [100
49ers DL Arik Armstead sidelined with knee sprain; DT Javon Kinlaw, OL Mike McGlinchey to return to team drills soon
The 49ers have their first notable injury of this year's training camp, but it doesn't sound like it's something of a serious nature.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Friday morning that defensive lineman Arik Armstead sprained his MCL at practice this week and that it could require some time to recover. Armstead was missing at practice on Thursday and could be out for a while.
"It's probably going to be a few weeks. Nothing we're concerned about, but we're taking some time away," Shanahan said.
Shanahan said Armstead took a bruise during practice that wasn't an issue at first but flared up after practice. After going through examinations, the 49ers decided to put Armstead on the sidelines.
"It didn't bother him that bad but it
