The San Francisco 49ers are on their only road trip of the preseason as they take on the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. San Francisco leads the all-time preseason series against the Chargers, 26-22. The two teams have faced off in the preseason every year that preseason has been played since 1987.
The 49ers and Chargers took part in two joint practices this past week at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa, CA.
San Francisco is coming off a 16-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Levi's Stadium. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed each of his three passing attempts for 26 yards. Rookie quarterback Trey Lance made his NFL debut, completing five of his 14 pass attempts for 128 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Trent Sherfield.
