The San Francisco 49ers are doing their due diligence when it comes to potentially adding some edge-rusher depth. The team is evaluating two defenders — former Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks pass rusher Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah and former Miami Dolphins, Seahawks, and Oakland Raiders defensive end Dion Jordan — according to reports from NFL Network and ESPN.
As Rapoport states in his report, nothing is done, but the 49ers are getting a good look at Ansah, who is going through physical and COVID-19 testing at the team's facility. Jordan is also there today, according to Schefter.
Ansah appeared in 11 games with one start for the Seahawks last season, recording 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits, two passes defended, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He recorded 28.5 sacks between 2015 and 2017 with the Lions.
Jordan recorded five tackles, two sacks, two quarterback hits, and a pass defense through seven games last year with the Oakland Raiders. He has 10.5 career sacks through five NFL seasons, not counting 2015 when he was suspended for the entire season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy.
San Francisco also
hosted defensive lineman Damontre Moore for a visit last week.

49ers attend Arizona pro day to watch Jordan Morgan
Nearly all NFL teams were represented at Arizona's pro day, with only three teams choosing to skip the event. The San Francisco 49ers were among those in attendance to scout the draft prospects, including potential first-round pick, tackle Jordan Morgan. The Niners currently hold 10 selections in the upcoming draft, with their first pick at No. 31 overall.
Of note, it wasn't just any 49ers scout present at Arizona's pro day. NFL Draft Diamonds reports that it was the team's director of college scouting. Tariq Ahmad held that position before recently being promoted, along with R.J. Gillen, to co-directors of player personnel. It's assumed that NFL Draft Diamonds meant one of these two
