The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The big news out of Santa Clara on Thursday was the injury to Jimmie Ward. The defensive back suffered a broken finger during Wednesday's practice, did not practice on Thursday, and his status for Sunday is in doubt.

Rookie wide receiver Jalen Hurd continues to miss practice as he deals with a back injury. He is unlikely to play on Sunday.

"Haven't ruled him out yet," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Wednesday, "but if I had to say something today, he's doubtful."

Nick Bosa (ankle) has been practicing this week and defensive coordinator Robert Saleh told reporters that the rookie defensive end is expected to play on Sunday.

"He's going," Saleh said. "He should be (ready)."

It's not necessarily anything to be concerned about, but you never truly know how these things will end. There is still potential that the 49ers could trade the star receiver in the next couple of weeks. If Aiyuk is extended, it
