Dec 17, 2018 at 11:33 PM--

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Richie James' Week 15 performance against the Seattle Seahawks has earned him a Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week Award nomination.

James scored a touchdown on a 97-yard kickoff return during the 26-23 overtime victory.

The other award nominees are Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels, Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Foster, and Miami Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

The 49ers made James a seventh-round draft pick out of Middle Tennessee State in April. While the majority of his playing time has come as a returner on special teams, he also has five receptions for 94 yards through 11 games and one start at receiver.

Fans can click here to vote for James over at NFL.com through Friday at noon PT.

49ers rookie defensive back D.J. Reed was nominated for the award last week and wide receiver Dante Pettis earned a nomination the week before. Neither ended up winning.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch announced a few roster moves before a Monday afternoon press conference conducted via Zoom. One was the decision to place safety D.J. "The earliest we might have had D.J. back was early November. It's a four-to-six-month injury, so that's been an active conversation Kyle and myself and the medical folks have been having. Ultimately, too difficult to keep a roster spot for something that may go into December. So we made that

The San Francisco 49ers announced several roster moves on Tuesday. Running back Jeff Wilson Jr. and wide receiver Richie James Jr. have been activated off of the reserve/COVID-19 list. That means the team no longer has any players on the list. James, however, is being moved to the active/non-football-injury list due to the broken wrist he suffered in June. The 49ers waived safety D.J. Reed with an injury designation. He will revert to NFI reserve once he clears waivers. Reed suffered a torn pectoral muscle in June and will miss the season. "That's a tough one for us," general manager John Lynch told reporters on Monday.

By David Bonilla

Arik Armstead, on Monday, during a video conference call with reporters, was asked about his teammate, second-year defensive end Nick Bosa. The veteran has been impressed with the young defender. Everyone has. Bosa had one of the more impressive rookie campaigns we've seen from a defensive lineman and looks to be a cornerstone that the San Francisco 49ers defense will continue to build around. And we may have just scratched the surface with what we've seen from Bosa. Armstead was asked about the young pass rusher's potential ceiling. "I don't like to put ceilings on anybody," Armstead responded. "I think very highly of Nick, and I think he can do anything he wants to out there. He's extremely talented, and he works extremely hard, so the sky's the
