The 2020 NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, the future home of the Raiders, the NFL announced on Wednesday at the Winter League Meeting in Arlington, Texas. That draft, which will be the 85th, is scheduled to take place April 23-25, 2020. It is the first time Las Vegas has hosted the annual event.
"The NFL Draft is one of the most-anticipated events of the year and we are excited to take it to Las Vegas," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "We look forward to working with the Raiders, Las Vegas officials and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to create an unforgettable week-long celebration of football for our fans, the incoming prospects and partners."
This year's draft took place at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas. Nashville, Tennessee will be the host city for next year's annual rookie selection process. The San Francisco 49ers are expected to end up with a selection at or near the top of the draft order.
Philadelphia was the host city for the draft in 2017 while Chicago did so in 2015 and 2016. Before that, the long-time host city was New York.

49ers bolster D-line in latest NFL.com mock draft
While most expect the San Francisco 49ers to target an offensive lineman with their first-round pick, NFL Media lead draft writer Eric Edholm has the team going in another direction with the No. 31 overall pick. In his final mock draft of the year, Edholm has the team selecting former Illinois defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton, who also goes by "Johnny."
"If you're worried Newton's skill set overlaps too much with that of Javon Hargrave, consider that Hargrave is set to hit the salary cap at more than $28 million in the 2025 season -- when he'll be 32 years old," Edholm explained. "As a relentless scheme-wrecker, Newton would help alleviate the
