The San Francisco 49ers released video of a mic'd up head coach Kyle Shanahan during Sunday's 20-14 victory over the Denver Broncos.
George Kittle hauled in seven passes for 210 yards with a touchdown and was five yards shy of breaking Shannon Sharpe's single-game record for receiving yards by a tight end.
"Good job dude. I am so sick I didn't get you five more yards, man," Shanahan told Kittle on the field as the game came to an end.
In the video, which you can watch below, you can hear Shanahan calling plays like "Zelda" and "Chocolate Door."
All of Kittle's yards came in the first half. He was held without a catch in the second. Shanahan, like fans, was disappointed Kittle didn't have an opportunity to break the record.
Said Shanahan on Monday: "I thought it would happen naturally throughout the game and then regardless, if we get the ball with a two score lead at the end, I promise you we won't run an out, we'll call a quick screen to him or something like that so we can get the record. Unfortunately, we got that ball at the end and it wasn't. It was a one-score game."
