The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 12 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

Friday notes:

  • Neither wide receiver Pierre Garçon nor guard Joshua Garnett have practiced this week. Both are ruled out of Sunday's game. Garnett had surgery on his broken thumb on November 13 while Garçon has been dealing with a knee injury.
  • Linebacker Reuben Foster has been limited during practices all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan on Garçon:

"He had some bad swelling (in his knee) for a while. The swelling went down. So once we thought the swelling went down, he'd be good to go. So did he, especially since he went against Oakland. And then after that, the swelling has been down, but the pain has been a lot worse. I thought there was a chance this week. I know he's trying. I know he's frustrated with it, but there's still pain there, so we're going to hope another week and see where he's at next week."

Shanahan on Foster:

"He's looked better each day. This has been his first week of practice but he's been able to practice all week. He has been limited in what he's done but he's looked better each day."

Shanahan on Garnett:

"He played with it last week. Got his thumb, some ligaments, fixed over our break. Got his cast put on. It's just still healing a bit. We knew he'd be close this week. I'd be surprised if he's not good to go next week."

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Buccaneers. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

Breaking down the 49ers drafts under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan

By Marc Adams
Apr 20

We are less than one week away from the NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have their first day-one draft pick since 2021. That was the year they selected QB Trey Lance number three overall. The trade-up to get Lance cost the 49ers their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023. And now that they are back in the first round, at pick 31, fans are anxious to see what the team does with the pick. And with former assistant GM, Adam Peters, now in Washington, it will be interesting to see how well the 49ers draft without Peters in the room.
