San Francisco 49ers safety Terrell Williams Jr. had an impressive preseason debut against the Dallas Cowboys last week. The University of Houston product sustained an unspecified injury during Thursday's joint practice with the Houston Texans. It was serious enough that Williams had to be carted off the field.

Update: Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that Williams injured his knee on the concrete along the side of the practice field after going down at the end of a play during one-on-one coverage drills.
Update 2: Maiocco spoke with Williams after practice and the injury doesn't appear to be serious. "He's walking and said he is fine," Maiocco reported.
The 49ers were already a little thin at strong safety after Marcell Harris injured his hamstring during Wednesday's practice.
