I actually saw Vance McDonald the other day walking in the heart of the Napa Valley. It got me really thinking of what this guy actually means to the 49ers offense in the future. The 49ers offense took a step back due to injuries and development of some very key positions.

Prior to the 13-14 season, it has been well-documented that Delanie Walker was a key instrumental piece to the 49ers power run game offense. Coming out of Rice University, McDonald's blocking was always under question.

Trent Baalke has always mentioned how the biggest growth is from year 1 to year 2. If McDonald can come into his own, the 49ers will have a plethora of options on offense. Knowing our coaches, we will find a way to attack the weakest point of the defense. If we can effectively use McDonald and develop him so we can maximize our offense, I can't imagine a single defense being able to stop Kap and his weapons. We have the weapons for a spread. We have the weapons for a power run game. We have the weapon for the qb option-read game.

McDonald will determine a lot of what we can actually do and package for our football team. His growth will be one of the keys going into the 14-15 season along with the health of our core players.
The opinions within this article are those of the writer and, while just as important, are not necessarily those of the site as a whole.

You're forgetting something, maybe the most important key of this offense. Kaepernick. If Colin can't look more than only 1 receiver downfield it won't matter how many weapons he'll have.

I agree, with the additions of Hyde, Ellington, Stevie J & possible B Lloyd to go along with Davis, V Mac, Gore, Bruce, a healthy Crab, Boldin & the General all playing behind a solid line and Kap running the show, man that is a lot of options for the opposing D to account for.

Quite an optimistic prospective. But, I can see where your getting at.

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week. "Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote. Most expect the 49ers to address the trenches early in the draft, and Brugler has the team doing that. It's just not on the offensive side of the football. In fact, Brugler doesn't have San Francisco
