San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly met with the media today and was asked to give an update on injuries that were suffered in the team's 34-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

"The only two guys that we're concerned with missing any time is Aaron Lynch, has a high-ankle sprain, and then Rashard [Robinson] has an MCL sprain," Kelly said. "There hasn't been a timetable put on those guys yet. So we won't know -- obviously, we're not playing this week and see how the rehab goes and all that in terms of their availability for the Saints game. But those are the only two right now that are a concern going past this week."

In the third quarter of the 49ers' 34-17 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, CB Rashard Robinson left the game when DL DeForest Buckner appeared to step on his left foot. Robinson left the field on a cart to go to the team's locker room and was seen walking with crutches following the game.

Shortly after Robinson's injury, OLB Aaron Lynch left the game after his legs were buried by players under a pileup during a tackle. Lynch left the field with a limb and the injury was later revealed to be a high-ankle sprain. "I'll be fine," Lynch said following the game. He was scheduled to receive an MRI today.

The 49ers players are in today for film review and then they will have a significant amount of time off before returning next week.

Kelly was asked about the players' extensive time off during the bye week. "I think at this point and time, we need to heal up," Kelly said. "We got two guys as I talked about in Aaron and Rashard that we're not sure about long term. But there are some other guys that have played through a lot of issues so far and have continued to play and stay in games. I think it's a good break for them to do what they need to do. That's the way I've always done it and our teams have been fresh coming out of the bye week."

One of those players that have been playing through injury is DL Arik Armstead. He has been playing with a shoulder injury that he suffered during training camp and left Sunday's game with an injury to that shoulder. "From what I talked to [Jeff Ferguson], I just -- we were over there and the two guys that we talked about were Aaron Lynch and Rashard, but there was nothing long term in terms of specifics of people past this week."

49ers to host Marshawn Kneeland and Jamal Hill on pre-draft visits

By David Bonilla
Mar 13

The San Francisco 49ers' evaluation of draft prospects is underway. As part of their assessment, the team will welcome two players for visits: former Western Michigan edge rusher Marshawn Kneeland and former Oregon safety Jamal Hill. San Francisco recently agreed to terms on two-year deals with defensive ends Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos, bolstering its pass rush. However, after losing Clelin Ferrell in free agency and facing the likelihood of Chase Young playing elsewhere in 2024, the team appears keen on adding more explosiveness along the edges through the draft. Kneeland registered 57 tackles, including 7.5 for a loss, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 10 game appearances with Western Michigan as a senior in 2023, per
