Mike Florio of
Pro Football Talk is reporting that, per a source with knowledge of the dynamics, the San Francisco 49ers might be angling to trade tackle
Joe Staley for the right price. According to Florio, the 49ers are angling for a first-round pick from a playoff contender for Staley. That means it would be a selection late in the first round.
Playoff teams typically trade from picks 21 through 32 in the first round. Of course, that could be different depending on any draft pick trades that take place. Florio says that Staley has been tied to the same teams that have some degree of interest in Cleveland Browns tackle
Joe Thomas. Those teams are the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots.
It is unknown if this information is pure speculation by his "source" or if these teams have a legitimate interest in Staley and not just a tackle in general. The inclusion of NFC West teams Arizona and Seattle seems odd, but not enough to debunk the rumor.
Over the course of the season, Staley has been the 49ers' top graded player per
Pro Football Focus – not counting
NaVorro Bowman, who is on the injured reserve list. He has been, by far, their best offensive lineman and that has been the case for years.
Staley, who is 32, is under contract through 2019. The trade window closes on Tuesday, November 1 at 1:00 p.m. PT.

Nick Bosa's mother pleaded for Chargers to trade Joey Bosa to 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers probably won't make another big move at defensive end after agreeing to terms with Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos on two-year deals. However, before news of the signings broke, the Bosa family seemed to be hoping for brothers Nick and Joey to become teammates in Santa Clara.
The brothers' mother, Cheryl Bosa, responded to an Instagram post speculating about the Los Angeles Chargers trading Joey Bosa to the 49ers. This would unite him with Nick Bosa and create a formidable family duo on the team's defensive line.

Rumor: Ravens reached out to 49ers about Deebo Samuel trade
Rumor has it that the Baltimore Ravens have inquired about the availability of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Jason La Canfora of 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore shared on his radio show that the Ravens reached out to the 49ers, but as of now, the Bay Area team seems to have no interest in engaging in trade discussions.
La Canfora reposted a social media post, which you can view below.
With @Ravens creating cap room, some of it could be earmarked for a WR. We heard they reached out to SF about Deebo availability (that's a no,
49ers-Texans player-for-player trade fell apart on Tuesday
Defensive tackle Arik Armstead is now a free agent after the San Francisco 49ers released him on Wednesday. However, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports that he was almost headed to the Houston Texans.
A source told Barrows that on Tuesday, the 49ers had a deal in place to trade Armstead for Texans defensive tackle Maliek Collins. However, the deal fell apart when the Texans agreed to terms with edge rusher Danielle Hunter.
Despite the failed trade, the 49ers ended up acquiring Collins in exchange for a seventh-round pick, the No. 232 overall selection in next month's draft. Collins is the second defensive tackle San Francisco has added this week, with the
