Ronnie Lott to help kick off Apple Pay today

San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott will be making an appearance today to help kick off Apple's new mobile payment system, Apple Pay.

Visa and Wills Fargo will hold pop-up events around San Francisco today. The events will have live demos that will display the ease of use and security behind Apple Pay. Attendees will have a chance to win prizes.

Ronnie Lott will make an appearance from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Justin Herman Plaza. 49ers mascot Sourdough Sam and San Francisco Giants mascot Lou Seal will be there as well. It will be a great chance for family photos.

Visa and Wells Fargo Showcase Apple Pay with Pop-Up Events around San Francisco

Monday, October 20, 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM PT

What:
Visa and Wells Fargo are celebrating Apple Pay launch day with events that show how to use the new service at iconic San Francisco locations. The first 10 people at each location will win a $500 Wells Fargo Visa gift card. Attendees will have the chance to win additional gift cards throughout the day when they participate in an Apple Pay demo.

Justin Herman Plaza: 2-12 Market Street (11:00am - 6:30pm)
Appearance by Ronnie Lott (3:00 - 4:00pm)
Union Square: 233-239 Geary Street (Noon - 3:00pm)

Why:
Starting today, iPhone 6 or 6 Plus users with Visa cards issued by Wells Fargo will be able to use Apple Pay to make purchases in stores at select U.S. merchants with their new iPhone. Thanks to a new capability called Visa Token Service, Visa account holders are able to add Visa debit and credit cards to Apple Pay to make easy purchases in store and in app with their new iPhone 6, guaranteeing a seamless experience with their preferred form of payment.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday. Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
