Whispers from Denver are saying that Jimmy Garoppolo is likely to see two or three series tonight at Mile High Stadium against the Broncos. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, as you well know, is making his first in-game appearance since suffering an ACL injury 11 months ago.

Of course, if Garoppolo comes out, leads a scoring drive in his first series, and goes something like 4-of-5 doing so, head coach Kyle Shanahan may just pull his franchise quarterback out of the game. Nothing is certain, yet.

"Want to play him," Shanahan told reporters on Saturday. "A lot has to do with when we watch his film from these two practices, how long we do play all our starters, what O-linemen are available and things like that. I'd like him to get in there for a little bit."

The 49ers will likely play against the Broncos without two starting offensive linemen. Center Weston Richburg remains on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list and definitely won't play. Starting right guard Mike Person suffered a minor left foot injury during Friday's joint practice with the Broncos and could be kept out.

We asked the Niner Faithful how much they feel Garoppolo should play on Monday night. Most voted for two series. Coming in second is one series, and third is three or more series.

At the time of this post, nearly 10 percent of fans believe Garoppolo shouldn't play at all to avoid another injury.

Mar 27

The San Francisco 49ers are actively working to sign wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to a contract extension, aiming to maintain their talented young core of players. The team has reached agreements with star players during each of the last four offseasons, securing George Kittle in 2020, Fred Warner in 2021, Deebo Samuel in 2022, and Nick Bosa in 2023. Another key contributor poised for a new deal next offseason is quarterback Brock Purdy. Over the last couple of years, the 49ers have been in the unique position of not having to pay much money (relatively) to stock their quarterback room while reaping the benefits of superb play from their starting signal-caller. However,

By David Bonilla
Mar 20

Jimmy Garoppolo is back in the NFC West after signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback recently explained his decision to join the division rival after a one-season stint with the Las Vegas Raiders. "Obviously good players all around," Garoppolo said, per ESPN. "That's a big part of it. Talking to [head coach] Sean [McVay] on the phone, him just running me through offense and things that he had in mind, it really became appetizing. And I know a lot of the coaches here, so a lot of familiarity in that aspect. And then having played against the Rams a lot in my career, I've seen a lot of good things

Will 49ers' position in one power ranking stir debate?

By David Bonilla
Mar 25

Power rankings in March don't mean much, given that the draft has yet to occur, but they offer an early glimpse into the media's perspective regarding each team's chances during the upcoming season. Fresh off a Super Bowl appearance and coming agonizingly close to securing their sixth Lombardi Trophy, the San Francisco 49ers approach the 2024 season with optimism. Despite enduring a gut-wrenching loss, their offseason moves signal a determined effort to bolster their roster for another run at Super Bowl glory. The 49ers' defensive front underwent significant renovations in free agency. The team parted ways with Arik Armstead but welcomed potential impact players like Leonard Floyd and Maliek Collins.
