The San Francisco 49ers will head to Louisiana as they take on the New Orleans Saints in a rematch of last season's NFC Divisional playoff game. The 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship after defeating the Saints in a thrilling 36-32 victory at Candlestick Park. San Francisco leads the all-time series against the Saints 46-24-2 and is 23-13 on the road.
Last week, the 49ers (7-2-1) notched a 32-7 win on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears. Linebacker Aldon Smith headlined a dominant defensive performance with a single-game career high 5.5 sacks. Smith's 5.5 sacks were also the most in Monday Night Football history and he now leads the NFL with 15.0 sacks. On offense, quarterback Colin Kaepernick made his first career start and completed 16 of 23 attempts for 243 yards, 2 touchdowns and a QB rating of 133.1.
The Saints (5-5) are coming off of a 38-17 win over the Oakland Raiders.
