K. Harris $1,088,509
D. Smith $2,001,668

thanks!!

Yes on Derek Smith, he was cut and took on a 2.001.668M Cap Hit.

As for Kwame, his deal voided and the remaining bonus money is accelerated onto this yrs cap.

#30 Donald Strickland(CB)-2008 $7,800,000

Isn't that about $7 million dollars too much? That's a guess on my part...

that would actually be $10m not $10k - and from that you have to deduct the $3.4m rookie pool.

the niners have circa $6.4m in cap space entering the 2008 season - enough room to play with! Look for a few players to be extended if possible with the cap room available - Baas would be a distinct possibility if a deal could be done.

Hey Ab, do you know anything about what the '09 salary cap will look like? We're gonna be in pretty good shape again right? We should be able to sign at least 1 premier free agent.

As much as I enjoyed watching Hill do positive things for an easy scapegoat of a target in Smith...

I gotta find it somewhere in my heart to hope Alex can really turn things around do the things we expected him to as a #1 pick

BELIEVE IN TEH ALEX!!!!!!!!!1

Strickland's cap friendly contract which benefits the club in 2009, is why he is going to make the Final 53 roster. I just hope that the club doesn't have to cut an up-and-comer like Hudson or Brown, to make room for Strickland. That's why I was hoping that the club would put Brown on PUP today (July 24), based on his Game 16 injury last year, so that they could keep both Hudson and Strickland, and then have Brown waiting in the wings after Game 6, when/if the club incurred an early-season, CB injury. If a player is not "PUP'd" at the outset of TC, it can't be done later. After today, it becomes a game of make the club, or lose a full year on IR, or be released. Those are the only choices, after the PUP window closes.

I rather just cut Spencer to be quite honest. Reggie Smith replaces Spencer.

based on last seasons performance i would be just as happy with spencer starting rather than Harris... watching Harris' lazy performance against the saints made me wanna puke, its not that he had a "bad" game, he was really playing LAZY... I dont see where all the hate for spencer comes from. he's a good backup and a descent starter. Harris had one really good game and the rest were ok to subpar. And i just dont think we'll ever see a repeat of his 06 season.
