Spencer can do it.
Nate can do it.
T. brown cant, and that new guy from the lions cant.
Goldson can't cover the middle, or take the right pursuit angles.. and lewis is too slow.. SO if the WR's manage to get half a step on us in press coverage, there is no help from the safety's.
I think that is why we haven't done it this year, or last year.

He will be toast if he does that especially against Fitzgerald. Man I wish we hade Nate back to cover Fitzgerald.

Finally. I have been screaming this all year. We give up too much cushion on the outside. How can you let WR's free off the line and let them jump right into their route.

We should just go 4-6 defense and let it all loose. Kill Warner or Bust.

We only give up cushion on the outside because our safeties are too inconsistent in coverage. I hear this complaint over and over again but THIS is the only reason we do it. Our safeties are NOT good.
I would start out this game in nickle in cover 3. I would have every receiver bumped at the line of scrimmage and go at him with 4 men. I would do basically what we did against Indy which is stand everyone up and disguise the rush. This strategy will kill Warner's timing and he'll throw some picks. He is NOT good against a 3-4.

Nate can press WRs? Why does he play 10 yards off the LOS then?
If Nate presses and doesn't get a good jam it's game over for him because his recovery speed is weak.

Completely agree. We have to get another safety with speed back there next year so we can play more bump & run.

They went up against each other every day in practice at pitt. Fitz says to this day Spencer is the toughest corner he has ever played against!

I do also since we basically need the Cards to lose out while we need to win out we need to kill Warner to have a shot at that.

I like his moxy...never been a big fan of the zone. But, you've got to have guys who can really cover...when it's he and Nate in there, I think that's where they're at their best. With Bly, not as confident in that tandem.
