Remember when...

people were bashing Baalke for drafting Aldon Smith and Chris Culliver? Saying things like "...we has not heard of Aldine Smith or Chris Gulliver, they must suck!"

Remember when people were bashing Baalke and Harbaugh for wanting to resign Alex Smith?

Remember when people were bashing Baalke and co. for not breaking the bank on Nnamdi and settling for the leftovers in free agency with has-beens like Carlos Rogers?

Remember when people were bashing Baalke for letting the core of our defense Spikes, Franklin, Lawson and Clements go, saying our D would be crap this year?

Remember when people were saying that we were going to suck for Luck and go 0-16 or the Bengals game was the beginning of a 5 game losing streak?

Just food for thought.

From the very beginning of the season I have been thrilled with what they were doing on defense.

I was not excited about Alex Smith, but obviously we had no choice but to resign him.

Words can't describe how good Baalke has been so far in his short tenure, both with free agency and draft picks.
I definitely know who has been the biggest Baalke basher....

Who let the dogs out... *woof* *woof* *woof*
I tried to start a thread just like this but the mods locked that s**t up. I hope this sticks because I "remember when". I remember the draft threads, and the predictions of doom and gloom.

My favorite is hoow we were supposed to go on our little 5 game losing streak starting in Cincinnati; from a poster who doesnt shows his face when he is wrong. I dont understand that--when the team does better, shouldnt we be excited? I think the dog is mad because we are a team playing good and winning good. Or maybe his real favorite team, the Cardinals suck. Thats it!

We had other options besides Smith. It would've cost us draft picks though. Harbaugh wanted smith from the get go. If Harbaugh wasn't here Smith wouldn't be here also.

Yep. Harbaugh was intent on bringing Alex back from virtually the get go, before any of the free-agent QBs had signed and before the draft. He wanted Alex. Guess he might have known what he was doing.
What this proves is that a lot of fans, including some on this website, don't know as much about running a football team or talent evaluation as they think they do. I'd chosen to remain optimistic as both Baalke and Harbaugh seem like intelligent people who obviously know more about football than about 99% of us.

Nah... they should have let the Webzone run FA, with Maddog at the head, because Baalke and co. don't know anything.
I thought on Draft week, we hit on Hunter and Culliver, I loved Culliver at S.Car.

Hunter was steal. Loved Kilgore and Person picks, hope we see them soon.

Didnt understand Miller as a FB, now makes perfect sense.

Wasnt sure at 1st with Aldon, but made sense, needed a OLB pass rusher.

Kaep is the wild card, i love him and hope he develops.
Good post. Baalke & JH did a fine job in FA, the draft and an excellent job in coaching.

Go Niners

49ers could have gotten Corn on the Kolb. With a QB Rating around 50, he's definitely got a.....high ceiling?

is it baalke or harbaugh/ coaching staff thats having this impact
