Brian Westbrook to 49ers?

Why the hell would we sign him? Doesn't make sense... And he'll most like go the a team that needs a RB.

no f**king way! Although, he'd definitely be a good change of pace back. But who get's bumped?? Dixon or Robinson?

Dixon

He hasnt been looking good in practice. Plus Robinson has value in the special teams game
Coffee and Dixon would benefit greatly from playing/learning behind a veteran like Brook who is a totally different runner than any back currently on the roster. Im sorry but M-Rob cant keep relying on special team ability to make the squad every season, sooner or later he's going to bite the bullet. Westbrook probably won't be a starter on any team he goes to, so why not a situational back with some get to the outside speed?

that's just some site throwing out pure speculation. it says it makes sense nothing about the team pursuing him or anything. just reporting in 2010

No. M-Rob is at least contributing something on special teams. Is Westbrook going to cover kicks?

How is Westbrook going to teach these guys something they can't learn. IMO we're talking about two big backs who rely on power to get yardage. IMO Westbrook WAS a great finesse back, trying to turn a power back into a finesse back is like trying to train a dog to meow.

I agree they could both use some help and neither is even close to being a finished product as an NFL runner. I don't see Westbrook helping that process along. I don't see him as a good pick up for our team.

The only issues have been blocking and blitz pickup.....a very fixable issue.

Haha I was thinking this too, but once such threads get moved into the proper forum the wolves tend to move on.
THIS makes sense now. Bring him in.

This move, at the right price, would not anger me. Nor would getting Huggy Bear.
