i would take him in a heartbeat shouldve took him the other year but he went to miami and had 17.5 sacks that year he wasnt that good this year due to injurys.i would pay 3 mil a yr for him thats pretty cheap.. they might cut him cause he wants to be a starter he would be one on our team easily!!!!!if not call them up and see what they want maybe a 4th rnd pick idk about a 3rd hes gettin pretty old but can still play

Don't think he'd want to come here and play the same role he did in Miami. The development of Brooks/Haralson/Lawson would take precedent.
I'd love to see him come and teach Brooks/Lawson/Haralson a few moves. He would definitely take our D from top 15 to top 5. I'm just not sure where he would fit in and how the 49ers could keep him happy unless they let go of Lawson or Haralson.
For the record I'll take Porter over Lawson as I see Brooks taking Lawson's spot in a few years anyway. Who better to learn the 3-4 OLB from than Joey Porter?

He just stated on WFAN in NY, that he'd like to go to the west coast (pretty adamant about it) if he's let go, and specifically mentioned ARZ, SD, or SF as his choices.

That's wonderful. I'll let him go to Arizona, Seattle or San Diego. I want none of his
antics and lack of skill.

If Porter goes to the Cardinals, he and Darnell Dockett would create the "Douchebag Defense."

Not sure why he wants out, but it sure sounds like he just cares about coming to a west coast team so we can pay his moving expenses the year before he dogs it and retires. Thanks, but no thanks, we already did that with Marvel Smith.
We still are a couple of years away from really making a run. We need young guys, not ones that wont be here 2 years from now. Especially at key positions.
