2012-2013 Sacramento Kings Thread

that was badass
it seems like every year now, we have some spectactular finish to a home game.
Last night's game was truly memorable. No, the Kings didn't turn a corner and they will continue to suck as long as the MaGoofs and the City of Slackcramento remain at odds with one another. But it was still nice to see. Many Kings games are simply unwatchable. Last night? The kids played well...

In their defense of the last year, it was the magoofs that dropped the ball, not the city. Years prior, Slackcramento would've been the appropriate term.

You and I will have to agree to disagree then. You shouldn't just read the Sacramento Bee as your only source of information. They tend to "leave out" a lot of things.

The MaGoofs long ago would have teamed with the city to build a new stadium -- at the site of the OLD ARCO Arena -- where the family bought the land surrounding the current parking lot years ago. The thinking was, and still is, the infrastructure is already in place. Two major freeways run to the south and west of the arena. Eight lane roads are already in place to the north and east. Offramps, parking, even a planned RT route is already in place.

But, instead, the city wants to ABANDON all of it for some pipe dream of a stadium downtown that will require $50 million in infrastructure improvements before you can even build the place? That's just pure insanity. You don't reinvent the wheel, and the MaGoofs were smart in walking away from that deal.

Put that new arena where it belongs! In the parking lot of the existing arena! Then, implode the old arena and use it for parking. Everyone wins. That $50 million you didn't have to spend for infrastructure can be used on the new arena instead.

But NOOOOO.... Making sense doesn't make sense. We go for the pipe dream instead... The only people who haven't abandoned this idea is the business owners who make up the North Natomas Chamber of Commerce...

Again, you won't read this in the Sacramento Bee. But if you live and work in North Natomas, as I do, and talk to the business leaders who have invested here, they will tell you the true story of what's going on here.

This doesn't make the MaGoof's misunderstood princes, mind you. They're still the MaGoofs. That Carl's Jr. ad they did a few years back was a master stroke of stupidity. But they don't shoulder all of the blame for this either...

I would rather package our 1st and maybe Jimmer for a legit SF, than rely on a rookie SF
