Naw, he just needed help. Nobody was doing a god damn thing to help him. Standing around, watching, and not reacting was coming from everybody but Kob-ster. They looked like they mailed it in from the start. Howard was totally out of it. He went for 7 and 9 in 40 minutes.
Great game Kings.
if only we played the lakers for everyone of our game we would be in the playoffs lol

This lol
I was too busy watching the warriors how the hell did he kings beat LA
That was fun. Chuck, JT, Thornton, Salmons, Brooks, Tyreke...lots of guys stepped up tonight.

We needed some enjoyment in our lives.

Listening to Grant Napear earlier and he was yelling at some caller trying to defend the Maloofs.. "WHAT HAS ANYONE IN SACRAMENTO TRIED TO DO TO KEEP THE TEAM?!!? HUH?? HUH??"

Not an exact quote but it was pretty close to that. The people of Sacramento and the City of Sacramento have worked hard to get a new Arena. We are just beaten to a pulp by the Maloof's b******t abilities to own and run an NBA team.

What a gutless douchebag

I'll be the first to admit that Petrie's recent track record is less than stellar. But the problems of the Kings are one step above. It's the owners. And it will always be so long as the Maloofs are running things.

There is a weird dynamic to the Petrie/Maloof relationship. The Maloofs love Petrie, they're comfortable with him. They hang on to the past like we do, and they had a premier franchise thanks to Petrie's great work (Bibby trade, Christie trade, Webber trade, Peja/Hedo draft picks, etc.) And I think the last thing the Maloofs want is to start over with some new hotshot GM who perhaps they can't control as easily. Petrie knows what it means to be GM of this team...small budget and don't say anything about the owners.

Judging Petrie purely on his moves, my continual complaint has been the lack of leadership on the floor. I can't fault him for his draft picks -- Tyreke and Cousins are immense talents and we're just now finding out that Evans probably doesn't fit in here. But the failure to surround those guys with complementary vets has killed the team. He dealt away Beno, which everyone knew was stupid from the jump. Beno wasn't a big vocal guy, but he was a steady veteran presence who proved he could mesh with Tyreke, the so-called face of the franchise at the time.

You waste what little money you get from the owners on John Salmons' hideous contract, Travis Outlaw, guys like Chuck Hayes who are a dime-a-dozen. We know we can't sign a big name but that doesn't mean you should waste $$$. You have to use the trade route...guys on the market this past offseason like Kyle Lowry, Andre Iguodala and Jarrett Jack....all would be welcome vets.

Now I think he's missed the chance to get true value for Tyreke. Honestly, who gives anything significant for Evans right now -- a guy without a position entering free agency and expecting a big contract? We're screwed there I think. Thornton and Cousins are worth keeping around, and after that you've got really very few players of value. Mostly overpaid vets.

The Maloofs aren't expanding the budget so we're stuck with what we got. Getting rid of Petrie would be justified, but I can't see things getting any better.

And therein lies the problem. If we think Petrie is bad right now, just imagine the piece of work these schmucks hire to replace him.

Just to be sure on this. Was Napear or the caller defending the Maloofs?
A friend of mine is the promotions director for 105.1 and he's met Napear a lot and says hes a dick. Which we all already knew.
Napear was defending the Maloofs. He has for years now, he flips and flops right along with them. I met Napear a few times when I was a kid like 10-14 years of age and he was real nice to me. But he's a dick otherwise. I remember one time during a Kings game he thought they were off air and someone brought him something like a stat sheet and he snatched it out of dudes hands and said something like "ABOUT DAMN TIME" with a crazy Grant snarl. Then realized he was on air and flipped the switch to tv Grant.

Grant is a big time company man. Dude has no balls when it comes to legitimate criticism of the Maloofs. He never, ever puts any blame on them. He blames the city for everything. Even in regards to the Virginia Beach BS. When callers asked him if he thought it was wrong that the Maloofs never denied it, instead said "no comment," he couldn't even say that was wrong. I've also met him a couple of times and he was really cool. But, that doesn't change the fact that he is a Maloof mouthpiece and does the city a disservice by being so bias.

Yeah he's just a d******d New Yorker. One time we called his cell and laughed at his voicemail.
He also works with Petries wife and he said they're both super nice.
This thread is more active than the warriors thread
Kings starting unit has played really well tonight. Brooks and Evans doing well together...
