2012 AL WEST CHAMPS Oakland A's Regular Season Thread

Yeah I understand but milone and Parker have tailed off the past couple of weeks. I think the higher innings is getting to them.

I don't understand how Rosales is still with this organization...he is an automatic out at the plate. I would much rather have hicks out there if I had my pick. Boy is our shortstop position the worst in all on baseball or what?

THE Absolute worst! Our infield's batting average makes you really shake your head. Who would have thought that Big Chris would be the best hitting Infielder that we'd have this season?

Im glad that Chris Carter is getting a lot of playing time and playing well. Like 75% of A's fans (including myself at one point) thought that Carter was a bust.
If he hits .250 for the rest of he seasonand shows this kinda power (9 homers in 80 ABs) and .400 OBP its safe to say he'll be our 1st baseman for a while. Good riddance Daric Barton, do not miss him at all lol.

hope the zuke trade doesn't mess with some of the pitchers' mojo....that 1st game right after the trade (where they blew a 3-run lead to the jays with 2 outs and stretched the game to 15 innings had me worried)
2-0 already. Christ on a cracker.
All I ask is that the A's stay competitive this series. Make each game count.
Lol Jered Weaver though!!

Nice W Tonight. Yoenis back in the lineup and our bats woke up against CJ. Even Rosales got a dinger LOL. Fat boy Colon has been Dealing. 23 IP with only 1 ER. Awesome effort.

Oh...and on the flipside....

....Mike Trout is the f**kin TRUTH!
sorry to troll...

I think his run was un-earned.

And yeah, Mike Trout looks like how I imagine a young Willie Mays would have looked. I like him even better than Harper imo. If only Beane hadn't worried about making a "reach" and had drafted him instead of Green. Looks like he learned from that experience this year when he drafted Russell who was also considered a "reach" at our spot.

Id easily take Trout over Harper.
Billy Beane actually said last off season that he thinks Mike Trout will be the best player in baseball..but Im sure a few people said that

..and he was "one of our top 3 guys" in the draft
"He was one of our guys, actually," Beane said. "He was one of the three guys we were talking about drafting -- Trout, Green and Mike Leake." Leake, a pitcher from Arizona State, went eighth to the Reds, and is now 23-19 through 69 big league starts. "That's why I flew out to New Jersey to watch him. I'm not going to make a trip to a high school in New Jersey unless I thought he was the real deal."

Beane talked faster. "It's an inexact science," he said of the draft. "You have to think about all the guys picked ahead of him, all the things that go into it. It's not like college football, where they're all playing against each other. Such a wide range of ages, kids from Maine, kids from San Diego, kids from Seattle, kids from Miami... He could run, throw -- big, strong kid. Billy Owens, our director of player personnel, his first report said he's like Brian Urlacher on the baseball field, with strength and speed. I could show you the reports. We loved him."

Oh my god..imagine an outfield with Cespedes in LF, Trout in CF, Reddick in RF
instead we have Grant Green who doesn't know what position he plays
What a great must win. The A's had to win last night. If they could somehow take down Grienke today my goodness this will have gone from a terrible home stand to an average/OK home stand.
