2011-2012 Sacramento Kings Thread

But now does this mean we have a deal in the works for a defensive big??

It seems to me that James Johnson plays much more as a 4 PF than as a 3 SF and for that reason I think we need to make a deal for a true SF for scores and plays actual defense. I see Johnson just taking Whiteside's spot.

Maybe we can deal one of these 3: Tyreke, Jimmer, or Thorton and our 1st next year and another piece like Hayes or Garcia (not both) for maybe a Danny Granger (IND) or Wilson Chandler (DEN) or Andre Igudola (PHI) or Rudy Gay (MEM) or Loul Deng (CHI).

PG: Brooks/IT
SG: Tyreke/Thornton
SF: Igudola/Garcia/Honeycut
PF: T-Rob/Johnson
C: DMC/JT

PLAYOFFS!!!!

Agreed that johnson plays more like a 4 than a 3, but for this team he will hopefully be a 3..and I don't think he is taking whitesides spot. We still need a defensive big.

Trading for a legit SF would be great, but won't happen. And we can't trade a future first cause it's still tied up in the JJ Hickson trade I guess. So that sucks. And trading Reke would give us a terrible back court defensively, as we would have to have IT and Thornton playing together...lol

I forgot about Hickson
Per ESPN:

2. Who has been the biggest disappointment of Vegas Summer League thus far?

Thorpe: Jimmer Fredette. With a few exceptions, he has been exactly what he always has been, and that is why he projects to be their third-string guy next season. I'd guess he leads summer league in total time dribbling and making teammates angry.

Verrier: Thomas Robinson. A large swath of NBA types felt the Charlotte Bobcats were foolish to pass up Robinson, who flashed an NBA-ready game as a junior at Kansas, for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a hard-nosed player with a presumed lower ceiling. But Robinson has been pretty average through four games: 12.5 points on 32 percent shooting and 8.3 rebounds per game.

I know it's just summer league, but still disappoiting. Especially Jimmer. From what I've read, he has either been too agressive (not knowing when to give up the ball in trouble) or too passive. Seems really confused still.

Yea they've both sucked so far, lol. Jimmer has improved his driving/dribbling which is good, but when he drives he only knows to shoot it. He never can find anyone

Jimmer needs to know when to pass the ball. I heard (i think it was Alex English) say that Jimmer needs to pass the ball sooner and that Jimmer needs to anticipate when trouble is about to happen and pass before the trouble comes.
It's summer league guys take it easy.

Jimmer had an awful first game and has put together three pretty solid performances in a row. And TRob looked pretty good today too.

Watched the last two games. He's playing a lot better. Doesn't look wide eyed anymore. Made some nice passes.
Who is a good PF compliment to Demarcus Cousins?
