The Warriors organization and not the fans are responsible for this debacle for four reasons.
1) They decided to host a jersey retiring ceremony after they've acknowledged that their season is over.
2) Their owner loves to hear himself talk and decided to interject himself needlessly in the proceedings,despite his obvious lack of public speaking skills.
3) Their owner and coach boasted that this team would make the playoffs this year and now have egg on their face.
4) The Warriors have no future.



Mullin got plenty of love.



And the Warriors fans picked a perfect oppurtunity to show Lacob their dissasfaction with his incompetence.

Sorry crz, can't agree with you there. Lacob is at every game. If the fans really wanted to show their dissatisfaction, then heckle him at the game, not during the jersey retirement ceremony for possibly the greatest Warrior to play the game. They talked about it on the radio that right now, people aren't talking about #17 being retired, they're talking about the owner getting booed out of the arena. And unfortunately, that's probably what's going to come up often when they think about Mullin's jersey being retired.

I'm almost sure that the reason all the fans are booing is because of the Monta trade. I love Monta Ellis. He's still one of my favorite players to watch. But fans need to move on from the trade. If they were really that pissed, then don't go to any more games.

Mullin, possibly the greatest Warrior to ever play the game,….uh not even close. Come on now.


Like I said, the Warriors were short-sighted in planning this event.

Sure, and I'm sure he gets that too. But last night he was holding a mic in the middle of the court with a spotlight on him. He was the center of attention. I agree about Barry. That was some intense s**t right there.

I was just looking at the "draft notes" section of nbadraft.net, where they list all of the outstanding trades that impact draft order. At the end of each draft note, it explains where the pick came from. Every one of them says something like "Terrence Williams trade", "Lamar Odom trade", etc.

Except one.

Warriors receive the Spurs 2012 (protected) first-round pick. (taking Richard Jefferson's contract)

Lacob's first move was making the David Lee trade/contract extension. Fast forward to this past offseason and he blows FA by offering a deal to Jordan that the Clippers gladly matched. Then he compounds the problem by amnestying Charlie friggin Bell leaving us still on the hook for Andris Biendrins. Then to recoup on that s**tty investment we waste half the season starting that POS which flushed our playoff dreams (faint as they may be) right down the toilet.

And now after guaranteeing playoffs, here we are tanking, only we've waited so long it may be too late which would render this whole exercise worthless. And the big move after all of this was trading Monta AND Udoh for a center that hasn't been healthy in 4 years. Meanwhile Gerald Wallace (the same Gerald Wallace who Lacob said couldn't help our squad, pfft) is fetching a top-5 pick from the Nets, while we are buying a late 1st at the expense of Richard Jefferson's s**tty contract.

I'll just spoil the end now and tell you that Andrew Bogut is going to be a bust. Even if he produces which is far certain considering recent trends, he's going to be 30 by the end of his current deal and looking for big dollars. That just so happens to be the same year Curry is due for an extension. So either we are committing huge dollars to our new "core" in a few seasons or we be rebuilding all over again this time around Klay Thompson and whatever crap they can string together. One thing is for sure we won't have any franchise saving draft picks anytime soon, what with our never ending fascination with NBA purgatory.

How did Lacob "blow FA"? He made an offer to Jordan that was matched. It was a very lucrative offer and it would have been crazy to go WAY beyond the amount he offered. He also went after Chandler but the Knicks won out. PArt of the problem of course is that players are not excited about coming to the land of Golden State. At least he aggressively went after a big. I give him credit for that.

As for the trade, well isnt it great that you have a crystal ball and can tell everyone that Bogut will be a bust. WOW. Maybe you should be the Warriors GM. Again, I give them credit for not sitting on their hands doing nothing and keeping an overrated Ellis and being a mediocre 10-11 seed in the West. I fully believe this team will finish in the bottom 6 or 7 and will get a top pick as well as a proven center. Every trade has a risk and this one certainly has that. If Bogut does but and they dont get the top 7 pick then it will go down as a really bad deal.

I think the Warriors should have used the amnesty on Biedrins. Horrible contract and an awful player. That was the worst move the Warriors made and I still cant believe they used it on Bell. For that, I agree 100% that they should be held accountable.

I am NOT saying that Lacob has been great or even good so far. I am saying that he is being aggressive and trying to change the makeup of this roster. They tried Free Agency and it didnt fly. I think they got the harsh reality that players were not going to come to this team right now.

I think its awesome that Minnesota found a team it could beat and that their players didnt fight with each other last night.

Missed the game last night, but saw youtube clip of lacob being booed. That was flat out embarrassing.

Anyways, Chris Mullin knows the Warrior fans love him and always will.

It's awful that Lacob ruined Mullin's moment by even going up there.

Chris should have been the only one to speak.
