When Joe Lacob has done nothing to earn any appreciation from Warrior fans. Thus far, he's shown himself to be completely incompetent but full of a ton of bravado.
Hopefully, this brings Lacob back to his senses.
Lacob got a very flawed roster that had no hope of being a playoff contender. He screwed up with the amnesty issue obviously but he is buying draft picks and trying to make this team a contender. I guess these stupid ass fans would prefer Cohen who did nothing ever.
The thing is, Lacob set himself up for criticism with his bold proclamations of success and arrogant belief in his own basketball knowledge.
Is there any other owner in the NBA who claims to watch tape of prospects. Any other owner who flatly declares that he has the final say on all basketball decisions.
Nobody can deny Joe Lacob's passion for basketball. But it's hard to actually have faith in his ability to produce a winning franchise.
He is willing to spend his money on free agents such as Chandler and Jordan, buy draft picks, and have the balls to make a trade to shake up a roster than everyone knows couldn't win. I think you need to give him some time before losing faith in the guy. Chris Cohen was an idiot. At least Lacob has passion and will spend his money.

Cohan spent money too. Don't tell me he didn't.
If they used the Amnesty on Biedrins, I'd say Lacob was actually spending money for the betterment of the team. Using it on Charlie Bell was f**king STUPID. f**k.
Pisses me the f**k off every time I think about it.

Willing to spend money doesn't make you competent.
Chris Cohan spent a combined $231 million on Adonal Foyle, Derek Fisher, Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, and Corey Maggette.
In fact, spending money stupidly is precisely what bad management does.
The Richard Jefferson trade is right out of the Chris Cohan/Robert Rowell playbook of incompetence.

Gotta agree with ninerjohn here. The guy cares and displays effort to win in many different ways. Very good owner compared to Cohan although that's not saying much
He didn't deserve to get boo'd. Warrior fans can be dumb sometimes. In this case it was booing Lacob on Mullin's night. Classless

You are so caught up in the salary cap! It doesnt mean s**t if no one will come here. The Warriors got a #1 pick and maybe 2 for next year. That should be what you focus on.

1) I think it's a completely silly argument that one will come here. If you build it they will come.
2) Secondly, you misunderstand me. I'm not advocating free agency as the panacea to the Warriors problems.
The Warriors main problem is that they have NEVER properly rebuilt this roster from the ground up. Instead, for the past decade, the Warriors have been stuck in a continous cycle where they consistently make stupid front office decisions and then spend years afterward trying to correct their mistake.
Year after year after year. Stupid contract after stupid f**king contract. Followed by desperately dumping that bad contract (or attempting to). That's not how you build a winning team.
You build a winning team by accumulating undervalued assets. By MAXIMIZING your salary cap space vs talent ratio, and wisely and efficiently spending your money.
By HOARDING draft picks and young players that you can use in future trades when a disgruntled superstar is available on the market.
By letting overvalued players walk. By mining through other league rosters and snatching up undervalued assets. Biding your time and waiting until you either get lucky in the draft or a superstar player becomes available via trade.
THEN, once you've finally gotten your superstar player either via the draft or via trade, you commence in building around him.
You now have salary cap space because you wisely spent your money. Thus, you can use the cap space to convince a second star player to join the first star player. Then you spend the remaining cap space on filling out your roster.
That is the ONLY FORMULA for success in the current NBA.
You don't spent $30 million on Richard Jefferson so you can get a late round pick that you probably could have bought for $2 million on draft day. That's stupid.
So you see...Money is absolutely everything.
And the teams that don't have any idea how to efficiently use their salary cap space are precisely the teams that are continually saddled with s**tty contracts like those of Andris Biedrins.
Those are the teams that are continually stuck in purgatory.

- Hey fans. We've got an exciting core of Troy Murphy, MIke Dunleavy, and Jason Richardson. We'll finally be able to compete for that 8th spot. Don't worry we got Murphy and Dunleavy locked up for $100 million combined. Then desperately try anything and everything to get rid of Dunleavy and Murphy until the Pacers bail us out.
- We need interior defense. Here comes 6 years, $42 million for Foyle. Then spend the next half decade trying to escape that contract.
- We need a veteran prescence at point guard. Let's go get Derek Fisher for 6 years, $37 million. Oh wait, now we need to trade him.
- Baron's gone? It's all right fans because we've signed Corey Maggette to a 5 year, $50 million. Spend the next couple years trying to wriggle out of that one.
- Oh hey, Stephen Jackson helped us make the playoffs. Let's reward him with 3 years, $28 million. Oh wait, now he's a malcontent and a bad contract, let's try to wriggle out of this one.
- Andris Biedrins shows promise and the center position is thin. 6 years, $66M for the Latvian. Hmm....
- David Lee is an All-Star. 5 years, $65 million for an automatic 20/10.

Completely agree with almost everything you said. Look at all the elite teams in the league they all pretty much did what you listed
Bulls - found their star in rose and built around him
Thunder - found their star and built around him by drafting westbrook, harden, ibaka, traded for perkins
Miami - did it with Wade
Sad that the warriors didn't go in that direction. We should traded Monta for picks, Curry for picks, used the amnesty on Beidrins.
Oh well

I couldn't agree more. That is what the Kings are doing and I hope that Tyreke can fetch us that superstar.
